Do you agree that each of 1-4 are *better-making* even if they also introduce problems? There’s a wide continuum between “has problems” and “makes things overall worse.” What is the alternative to just combining the above 4 solutions? (Looking forward to your ANCAP post, if that happens.)

By the way, what do you make of recent “socialist” (?) proposals to “democratize the workplace”?

How should we distinguish workplace democracy from worker ownership? If there is any real difference, it is too subtle for me.

Better compared to what? Maybe that is your question also?

Given what I have read of his, I assume he would encourage people who like the idea of workplace democracy to join or start an enterprise that makes use of it, but would stop short of compelling business owners to use it. This seems unlikely to satisfy advocates of workplace democracy. You know- capitalists have all the capital, workers just can’t get their hands on it somehow. ;)

Can you expand on why you think a Meta-Government is an underrated solution?

I was hoping you would have an option 5, market competition.

Is this upcoming? @Dr. Huemer

Well, maybe his book The Problem of Political Authority counts as covering that option.

True, but then, in the spirit of continuing to provide accessible summaries of his published work every other week, perhaps he will. I wouldn’t mind.
