Time & Entropy (video)
I’ve uploaded another video: https://youtu.be/C6NVewJH6F4
TL;DW: I discuss the mystery of entropy. It's interesting that an enormous number of physical processes are "irreversible" (we can't make them go backwards). We can sum up the facts about what is irreversible by saying that entropy is constantly increasing in one temporal direction (the future). But why?
I explain the original conception of entropy (understood in terms of heat and temperature), then the modern conception (in terms of volumes of phase space). I give the standard account of why entropy (so understood) should increase over time, given that a physical system starts out with a non-negligible degree of order.
